About
Station Camp Campground is located in the rugged terrain of the Cumberland Plateau within Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. Originally constructed in 1993, the campground serves both equestrian and non-equestrian campers year-round. The 24 developed sites each include water and 30-amp electric hookups, a picnic table, grill, fire ring, and tie-outs for up to four horses. Recent improvements include replacement of metal horse tie-stalls with pipe panel horse corrals for enhanced safety. The campground provides modern conveniences including flush toilets with hot showers, a dump station, and free WiFi at the bathhouse. Site 7 is ADA accessible and located directly across from the bathhouse. The Station Camp River Access is nearby, serving as a popular crossing point to access the extensive trail system for horseback riding, hiking, and mountain biking throughout the recreation area. Campers must store all food in hard-sided vehicles or trailers, keep pets leashed at all times, and observe quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM ET. Check-in and check-out are both at 12:00 PM ET. Reservations are available through Recreation.gov up to 240 days in advance.
