Look Rock Campground is located along the beautiful Foothills Parkway West between Walland, Tennessee and Chilhowee Lake at an elevation of 2,600 feet. The campground offers 68 campsites in a wooded high-country landscape, providing a traditional outdoor camping experience with modern conveniences. Ten sites feature electric and water hookups, while all sites have access to seasonal flush toilets, drinking water, and a dump station. No shower facilities are available on-site. The campground serves as an excellent base for exploring Great Smoky Mountains National Park's extensive trail system, which spans over 800 miles. The nearby Look Rock observation tower offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Wildlife viewing and birding opportunities abound throughout the area. While fishing is not available at the campground itself, Chilhowee, Calderwood, and Cheoah Lakes are a short drive away. The campground sits along one of the park's most scenic drives. Nearby attractions include the infamous Tail of the Dragon section of State Route 129, featuring 318 curves in 11 miles. Maximum RV lengths vary by site from 13 to 48 feet. Reservations are required and can be made up to six months in advance through Recreation.gov. Stay limit is 14 consecutive days with up to 6 people and 2 vehicles per site.

Directions

From Maryville, TN: Take U.S. 321 North from Maryville to Walland, TN. Turn right onto Foothills Parkway Section 8G/Foothills Pkwy W (signs for Look Rock/US-129), about 9.5 miles to campground. From Pigeon Forge, TN: Follow US-321 S to Foothills Parkway in Walland, about 24 miles. Turn left onto Foothills Parkway, about 9.5 miles to campground. Avoid GPS directions using Montavale Rd, Happy Valley Rd, or Flats Rd when towing.
