About

Teal Spring Campground sits at approximately 5,600 feet elevation in the Umatilla National Forest, offering a scenic gateway into the Blue Mountains of southeastern Washington. This small, primitive campground provides spectacular panoramic views of the Tucannon River drainage and the adjacent Wenaha-Tucannon Wilderness. The campground's remote location and light usage make it an appealing choice for visitors seeking a quieter camping experience. The campground is particularly popular with Off-Highway Vehicle enthusiasts, as it provides convenient access to OHV trail systems in the area. Day hikers also appreciate the campground's proximity to wilderness trailheads. The facility includes vault toilets and picnic tables at each site, though campers must bring their own water as no potable water is available on-site. The campground can accommodate both tent camping and smaller trailers, though the remote forest road access may be challenging for larger RVs. Visitors should be aware that motorized and mechanized use is prohibited within the Wenaha-Tucannon Wilderness itself. Those planning to bring stock animals must use weed-free feed. The campground's elevation and location mean that access is typically limited by snow in winter months, with the season generally running from late spring through fall.
