About
Ladybug Campground sits at the edge of the Wenaha-Tucannon Wilderness in the Blue Mountains of southeastern Washington. The campground takes its name from the colorful ladybugs that gather here, part of the Coccinellidae beetle family. This primitive site offers a quiet basecamp for exploring one of Washington's most remote wilderness areas. The campground provides basic amenities including a vault toilet and picnic tables at each site, but campers must bring their own drinking water as none is available on-site. Hunting, day hiking, and bicycling are popular activities in the surrounding area, though trails entering the wilderness are closed to all motorized and mechanized equipment including mountain bikes and carts. Stock users should note that weed-free feed is required for animals. Access requires navigating gravel Forest Service roads from either Pomeroy or Dayton, Washington. The remote location and light usage make this an ideal spot for those seeking solitude in the Blue Mountains.
Directions
From Pomeroy, WA: Travel west on Highway 12 for 4 miles. Turn left onto Tatman Mountain Road.
