Tamarisk Grove Campground sits in the southwestern portion of Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, California's largest state park, at the junction of Highway 78 and County Road S-3. The campground features 27 sites total, including both traditional tent/RV sites and cabin rentals, nestled beneath a canopy of tamarisk trees that provide welcome shade in the desert environment. The campground offers developed amenities including flush toilets, hot showers, fire rings, and picnic tables at each site. An on-site office provides maps, brochures, and park information. The location serves as an excellent base for exploring the park's desert landscapes, with the Yaqui Well Trail and other hiking opportunities nearby. The campground is positioned along the western edge of the Colorado Desert in a mountainous area, offering a unique desert camping experience. Tamarisk Grove operates seasonally from October 1 through May 31, with reservations available through ReserveCalifornia.com up to six months in advance. The campground closes during the summer months (June 1 to September 30) due to extreme desert heat. Maximum RV length is 21 feet, and the campground can accommodate vehicles and trailers up to 35 feet. Dogs are permitted on leash in the campground and on designated park roads.
