About

Swift Creek Campground, formerly known as Baker Lake Resort, is tucked into a mixed-conifer forest on the eastern shore of Baker Lake in Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. The campground provides lakeside camping with approximately 49 private sites that accommodate tents and RVs up to 40 feet, along with 2 group sites and 2 basic yurts. The yurts are bare-bones structures without furniture, so campers must bring their own bedding and air mattresses. The facility includes vault toilets, potable drinking water from faucets, and a cold water outdoor shower near the small swim beach. A paved boat ramp accommodates larger motorized boats, and there is a 20-slip dock for boaters. The day-use area by the lakeshore has 13 picnic tables, a group shelter, and grills. Recreation opportunities include boating, swimming, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and wildlife viewing on Baker Lake. The nearby Baker Lake Trail offers family-friendly hiking through stands of Douglas fir, passing remnants of cedar trees burned during Mt. Baker's 1843 eruption. Horseback riding is available in summer and early fall, and snowshoeing is possible during winter months.
