About

Maple Grove Campground is a backcountry destination located 4 miles along Baker Lake Trail 610 in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. A short 0.3-mile spur trail leads from the main trail down to the campground, which sits at the edge of Baker Lake. The site is popular with both hikers traveling the 14-mile Baker Lake Trail and boaters who access it from the water. The campground features seven designated tent sites equipped with picnic tables, fire pits, and bear boxes for food storage. There are no toilets or potable water at this location; campers must filter or treat water from the lake or nearby streams. All trash must be packed out. As a backcountry site, there are no fees and camping is first-come, first-served. The surrounding area offers excellent opportunities for fishing, wildlife viewing, and connecting to other backcountry camps along Baker Lake Trail including Anderson Point, Silver Creek, and Noisy Creek. Visitors should be aware that food must be stored in a bear-resistant manner as required throughout the forest.

Directions

From Sedro-Woolley, follow State Route 20 east for 16 miles to milepost 82. Turn left (north) onto Baker Lake Highway (Forest Service Road 11). Continue 14 miles to Baker Dam Road and turn right. Cross Upper Baker Dam, then turn left on FS Road 1107 to reach Baker Lake South Trailhead. Hike 4 miles on Baker Lake Trail 610, then take the 0.3-mile spur trail to the campground.
