About

Grave Creek Campground is a quiet, primitive campground tucked into the Kootenai National Forest in northwestern Montana, approximately 4 miles north of Fortine. With just 4 campsites, the campground provides a secluded experience for those seeking solitude in the forest. Each site comes equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. The campground operates on a pack-in, pack-out basis with no fees required. Vault toilets are provided, but there is no potable water on site; campers must filter or treat water from nearby Grave Creek or bring their own supply. The access road and site layout can accommodate RVs up to 20 feet in length. Fishing opportunities are available along the creek. Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash. The maximum stay is 16 consecutive days, consistent with all National Forest System lands. While the campground is managed primarily from Memorial Day through Labor Day, it remains accessible year-round depending on weather and road conditions.
