About
Smith Springs Recreation Area is a day-use facility operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on J. Percy Priest Lake, approximately 10 miles east of downtown Nashville. The area features a reservable group shelter ideal for family reunions, company picnics, and community gatherings. The group shelter accommodates up to 50 guests and includes electric hookups, a paved driveway, and shade coverage. Restroom facilities are available on site. Due to limited infrastructure, parking is restricted to 12 vehicles maximum. Alcohol is prohibited, and amusements such as inflatables, pony rides, and public address systems are not permitted. The surrounding area offers access to J. Percy Priest Lake's 14,200 acres of water for fishing, boating, and wildlife viewing. The adjacent Cedar Glades Natural Area is home to diverse plant and wildlife species. For overnight camping at the lake, visitors should consider nearby Anderson Road Campground.
Directions
