The heavy rain will also lead to significant flow in area washes, creeks, and rivers. * WHERE...A portion of Southeast Arizona, including the following areas, Chiricahua Mountains, Dragoon and Mule and Huachuca and Santa Rita Mountains, Eastern Cochise County below 5000 feet, Galiuro and Pinaleno Mountains, Upper Gila River Valley and Upper San Pedro River Valley. * WHEN...From 2 PM MST this afternoon until 9 PM MST this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Daytime heating will combine with a very moist atmosphere to produce scattered showers and thunderstorms which will be capable of very heavy rain. Roper Lake State Park's lakeside cabins provide comfortable lodging in southeast Arizona, situated 6 miles south of Safford at the base of Mount Graham. Eight log cabins line the lake, each furnished with bunk beds and/or full-size beds with mattresses, electricity, and air conditioning/heating. Every cabin has a picnic table and charcoal grill for outdoor cooking, though open flames including candles and stove burners are prohibited inside the cabins. Modern restroom and shower facilities with hot running water are within walking distance and are ADA accessible. The park offers a dump station for RV campers, a park store in the Visitor Center with fishing supplies and camping essentials, and a fenced dog park. Pets are permitted in five of the eight cabins (Mustang, Roadrunner, Coyote, Hummingbird, and Bass) with a $10 pet fee. The park features swimming in a natural hot spring-fed stone tub, fishing, kayaking, and hiking trails. Reservations can be made up to 365 days in advance through Arizona State Parks, with a $50 refundable cleaning deposit required at booking. Check-in is at 3 p.m. and check-out at 10 a.m.
