Hacienda Campground is one of three campgrounds at Roper Lake State Park in southeast Arizona, located 6 miles south of Safford in Graham County. The campground sits at the base of Mount Graham with scenic views of the Pinaleño Mountains. With 20 sites featuring water and electric hookups (20/30 amp), the campground accommodates both RVs and tent campers. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table, and most sites can accommodate vehicles up to 45 feet in length. The campground features a mix of pull-through and back-in sites, making it convenient for larger RVs. A bathroom with hot showers is located near the entrance of the campground. The park entrance gate closes nightly at 9 p.m. Roper Lake offers excellent opportunities for fishing, birdwatching, and water activities, with species commonly seen including Gamble's quail, redwing blackbirds, herons, and various waterfowl. Check-in time is 2 p.m. and check-out is 12 noon. Reservations can be made online through azstateparks.com or by calling the Arizona State Parks Reservations Desk. The park is open year-round with the visitor center offering a gift shop, local area information, and Junior Ranger programs. A sewage dump station is available for registered campers near the park entrance.

Directions

Hacienda Campground is located within Roper Lake State Park, approximately 6 miles south of Safford, Arizona. From Safford, take US-191 S for about 6 miles, then turn right onto Roper Lake Road to enter the park.
