Ridgway State Park spans 3,301 acres in southwestern Colorado at the base of the San Juan Mountains. The park's centerpiece is Ridgway Reservoir, surrounded by three distinct camping areas. Dutch Charlie area hosts the Elk Ridge and Dakota Terraces campgrounds with 174 combined sites featuring 30-amp electrical hookups and shared water hydrants. Pa-Co-Chu-Puk campground along the Uncompahgre River offers 50-amp full hookup sites with individual water and sewer connections, plus 15 walk-in tent sites. Amenities across all campgrounds include flush restrooms, free showers, fire rings with grates, BBQ grills, picnic tables, and bear-proof dumpsters. Seasonal coin-operated laundry and vending machines operate during summer. The Blue Heron Marina & Store serves the Dutch Charlie area, which also features a swim beach, boat ramp, visitor center, and playground. Year-round camping is available with selected loops in Elk Ridge and Dakota Terraces plowed and reservable during winter. Three heated yurts provide an alternative for cold-weather stays.
