Ridgway State Park

Open — The campground is currently open for reservations and operates year-round. Select loops in Elk Ridge and Dakota Terraces remain open during winter with plowed sites and heated facilities. Park gates are open daily 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Reservations are required and can be made up to six months in advance.

Located at the base of the spectacular San Juan Mountains in southwestern Colorado, Ridgway State Park provides an exceptional camping experience with nearly 300 campsites spread across three distinct campgrounds. Dakota Terraces and Elk Ridge campgrounds offer 30-amp electric hookups, shared water hydrants, and an RV dump station, with Elk Ridge featuring 10 scenic walk-in tent sites. Pa-Co-Chu-Puk campground, nestled by the Uncompahgre River, provides premium full hookup 50-amp sites with individual water and sewer connections. All campgrounds include modern camper service buildings with flush restrooms, free showers, and seasonal laundry facilities. The park welcomes winter campers with select plowed, reservable sites in Elk Ridge and Dakota Terraces that provide access to heated facilities and year-round dump station service. For a unique lodging experience, three heated yurts accommodate up to six guests each and include small refrigerators, microwaves, comfortable furnishings, and outdoor grilling areas. The park also features 25 dedicated walk-in tent sites for those seeking a more rustic experience, plus the Eddy Group Campground for larger gatherings. With convenient access to the reservoir, extensive trails, fishing, and proximity to Ouray and other mountain destinations, Ridgway State Park serves as an ideal base camp for exploring southwestern Colorado's outdoor recreation opportunities.
