About

Angel Creek Campground sits in the Uncompahgre National Forest near Ouray, Colorado, offering 15 primitive campsites for tent campers willing to navigate the rough access road. High-clearance vehicles are required, and the area is explicitly not designed for trailer campers. Each designated site features a tent pad and fire ring with grill for cooking. The campground provides basic amenities including two vault toilets but no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. Sites are available first-come, first-served at $10 per night. Quiet hours are observed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Access is via State Highway 550 south from Ouray, turning right onto Canyon Creek Road (County Road 361), then right onto Forest Service Road 853.81. Winter maintenance is not provided past McNulty Lane, and winter access depends on conditions and visitor capability.
