About

Refugio State Beach Campground sits along one of the most picturesque stretches of the Santa Barbara County coastline, 20 miles west of Santa Barbara off Highway 101. The 67 standard campsites and 3 group sites are arranged in a palm-lined setting just steps from the sandy beach and its sheltered cove, which provides calmer waters ideal for swimming, kayaking, and snorkeling. Facilities include flush restrooms with showers, potable water spigots, a camp store for supplies, and a dump station. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table. The campground features a basketball court, swing set, campfire center, and grassy areas with barbecues. Five ADA-accessible campsites are available with nearby accessible restrooms and showers. The park offers coastal hiking and biking trails, fishing, surfing, and ranger-led interpretive programs. Beach wheelchairs are available at no cost. Reservations are available April 1 through November 30 via ReserveCalifornia.com; from December through March, sites are first-come, first-served.
