About

Mt. Figueroa Campground is situated atop Figueroa Mountain in Los Padres National Forest, elevation approximately 4,500 feet, surrounded by groves of red manzanita and a mix of oak and pine trees. The campground offers 35 sites, each equipped with a fire ring, pedestal barbecue, and picnic table. During spring, the area features spectacular wildflower displays, and the campground attracts migrating birds including western tanagers that breed here through August. The campground serves as a centralized location for accessing various recreational opportunities including the Davy Brown/Fir Canyon and Ballard Trails (when open), mountain biking, horseback riding, OHV use, fishing, backpacking, and seasonal deer hunting. Figueroa Lookout Road provides scenic views of rolling hills and the Pacific Ocean. The campground is approximately 10 miles from Los Olivos via Figueroa Mountain Road. The area is popular with hunters during deer season and offers excellent opportunities for photography and stargazing. Nearby attractions include Davy Brown Campground and trailheads to the San Rafael Wilderness. The Santa Ynez Valley towns of Los Olivos, Santa Ynez, Solvang, and Buellton are within an hour's drive.
