About
Los Prietos Campground is situated in the Los Padres National Forest on the side of the Santa Ynez Mountains, providing a green and lush camping experience in western California. The campground features 38 spacious sites shaded by beautiful, mature oak trees with abundant vegetation providing privacy between sites. The Santa Ynez River, accessible at White Rock Day Use Area less than a half-mile away, offers opportunities for swimming and water recreation. Anglers can explore Cachuma Lake Recreation Area, a no-body-contact reservoir about 10 miles northwest, which is annually stocked with trout and also offers bass and carp fishing. The campground serves as an excellent base for hiking, with the popular 2.5-mile Aliso National Recreation Trail loop beginning near the campground and the 18-mile Santa Cruz Trail providing access to a network of backcountry routes. The Camuesa OHV Route and connecting trails are available within 10 miles. Located just 19 miles from Santa Barbara and the Pacific Ocean, the campground combines mountain recreation with coastal access.

From Highway 101 in Santa Barbara, turn east onto Highway 154 and continue about 11 miles. Turn right onto Paradise Road and travel about 3 miles to the campground.
