About
Red Bridge Campground is a small, rustic Bureau of Land Management campground located along the Lake Fork of the Gunnison River, approximately 21 miles north of Lake City. Situated just off the scenic County Road 25, the campground is a short drive from the Silver Thread National Scenic Byway and provides access to excellent river fishing opportunities.
The campground features 7 basic campsites, each equipped with a parking spur, metal fire ring, and picnic table. One ADA-accessible restroom serves the campground. Potable water is not available, so campers must bring their own drinking water. The remote location and minimal development make this an ideal spot for anglers and campers seeking a quiet, back-to-basics experience along a scenic mountain river.
All campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis for $10 per night. The campground typically operates seasonally from June through September, with access limited by snow and road conditions during the winter months. The Lake Fork of the Gunnison River offers quality trout fishing for rainbow and brown trout, and the surrounding area provides opportunities for scenic drives and wildlife viewing.
