About
Dry Gulch Campground offers a quieter alternative to the larger campgrounds at Curecanti National Recreation Area. Located 17 miles west of Gunnison just north of US Highway 50, the campground sits at 7,560 feet and provides access to Blue Mesa Reservoir and the surrounding recreation area. Large cottonwood trees shade the 9 campsites, creating a pleasant atmosphere during the warmer months. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations available. Each site accommodates up to 8 people and 2 vehicles. Parking areas vary from 20 to 35 feet in length, suitable for tents and medium-sized RVs but not large rigs. A horse corral makes this campground appealing to equestrians exploring the area. Seasonal amenities include vault toilets, potable water, trash and recycling collection, and food storage lockers. Fires are permitted in provided grates, though fire restrictions may apply during dry conditions. The campground limits stays to 14 consecutive nights within any 30-day period.
