About

Rasar State Park sits along the scenic Skagit River in the foothills of the North Cascades, about 50 miles east of Bellingham. The 180-acre park features a mix of old-growth and second-growth forest with over 4,000 feet of river frontage. The campground includes standard tent/RV sites, partial-hookup sites with water and electric, primitive hiker/biker sites, group camps, and heated cabins with private bathrooms. The park offers 4.7 miles of trails including a one-mile ADA-accessible loop. The Skagit River is popular for fishing (steelhead, salmon, trout) and wildlife viewing, with bald eagles commonly seen in winter. Interpretive programs and Junior Ranger activities run weekends between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Facilities include modern restrooms with showers, potable water, a trailer dump station, firewood for sale, and Wi-Fi. A kitchen shelter with electricity and water is available for group use. Reservations are recommended; unreserved sites become available for same-day one-night stays starting at 2:30 p.m.
