About

Rainy Lake Campground is a small, rustic campground situated on the east shoreline of Rainy Lake, one of the scenic Clearwater Chain of Lakes in Lolo National Forest north of Seeley Lake, Montana. The campground features 6 first-come, first-served campsites with no reservation system or fees. Site 1 is designed as an accessible RV site, while sites 2-6 are walk-in only, providing a more secluded camping experience. Rainy Lake is part of the Clearwater Chain of Lakes system, which includes Lake Alva, Lake Inez, Seeley Lake, and Salmon Lake. The lake offers excellent opportunities for fishing and non-motorized boating such as canoeing and kayaking. Nearby hiking trails provide additional recreation options for visitors looking to explore the surrounding Lolo National Forest. This is a pack-in, pack-out campground with no amenities. There are no restrooms and no potable water available on-site, so campers must bring their own water and be prepared for primitive camping conditions. Vehicles must remain on designated roads. The campground's remote location and minimal development make it ideal for experienced campers seeking a quiet, natural setting.
