Prophetstown State Park sits on the historical site of a Native American village along the scenic Rock River in Whiteside County, Illinois. The 43-site campground operates seasonally from May 1 through October 31, providing a shaded setting suitable for both tent campers and RVs with trailers. All sites have electrical outlets, and the facility includes a dump station for RV waste disposal. The campground features a shower building with flush toilets, while vault toilets are also available throughout the park. Water hydrants provide potable water in the camping area. The park offers boating, fishing, and hiking opportunities, with a horseshoe court available for recreation. Groups of 25 or more must register in advance with the park office. Reservations are handled through the ExploreMoreIL platform, with a $5 non-refundable reservation fee plus camping and utility fees due at booking. The park is easily accessible from I-80 or I-88 via IL Route 78.

Directions

From I-80, exit onto IL Route 78 and head north toward Prophetstown. From I-88, exit onto IL Route 78 and head south. The park is located on Riverside Drive on the south side of the Rock River within the city limits of Prophetstown.
