About

Prairie Point Campground occupies a scenic position near the upper end of Green Mountain Reservoir along its eastern shore, within the White River National Forest. Located 17 miles north of Silverthorne off Highway 9, the campground offers 22 standard nonelectric sites spread across two loops. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring, with most featuring walk-in access from nearby parking spaces. The reservoir setting provides excellent recreation opportunities including motorized and non-motorized boating, jet skiing, water skiing, swimming, and fishing. All motorboats must launch from Heeney Marina, and mandatory aquatic nuisance species boat inspections are required before launching. The surrounding landscape features views of the Williams Fork and Gore mountain ranges, characteristic of the 2.3-million-acre White River National Forest. Campers should plan to bring their own drinking water as no potable water is available on site. The campground sees moderate use and operates seasonally, typically from late May through early fall. Reservations are available through Recreation.gov, though some sites may be first-come, first-served.

Directions
