Port Crescent Campground

Port Crescent State Park occupies 3 miles of sandy Lake Huron shoreline just outside Port Austin at the tip of Michigan's Thumb. The 140-site modern campground features a mix of waterfront and wooded sites, many with views of Saginaw Bay. Electric service options include 20, 30, and 50 amps, with some full-hookup sites offering water and sewer connections. Two modern bathhouses provide flush toilets and hot showers. The campground caters to a range of camping styles, from tent camping to large RVs up to 50 feet. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. Additional facilities include a dump station and dishwashing station. Three ADA-accessible campsites are located near the accessible restroom building, and the park offers a beach wheelchair and accessible walkway to the water. Beyond the campground, the park offers unique overnight lodging including geodesic domes, camper cabins, and cottages. Day-use facilities are located two miles from the campground with a separate entrance. Popular activities include swimming at the buoyed beach area, hiking the Thumb Area Bottomlands Preserve trails, and stargazing along the dark shoreline.

Directions

From Port Austin, head west on M-25 for approximately 5 miles. The campground entrance is on the north side of the road at 1775 Port Austin Road.
