Port Crescent Campground

Open — Open year-round on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations also available through the Michigan DNR reservation system. The day-use area and campground have separate entrances two miles apart.

Port Crescent Modern Campground is located within Port Crescent State Park along 3 miles of sandy Lake Huron shoreline at the tip of Michigan's thumb near Port Austin. The 142-site modern campground is known for its waterfront views of Saginaw Bay and sites nestled among hardwood forests. Electrical service ranges from 20-amp to 50-amp, with some full-hookup sites available. Three ADA-accessible campsites are located near the accessible modern toilet and shower building. A sanitation station and dishwashing station serve campers. Unique lodging options include two geodesic domes with skylights and lake views, five cottage cabins overlooking the bay, a full-amenity cottage with bathroom and kitchen, a pet-friendly mini cabin, a larger camper cabin, and two hammock-only sites with electric service along the lakefront. A buoyed swim area in the campground provides beach access, with a beach wheelchair available for borrowing and an accessible walkway to the water. The park features the Pinnebog River for paddling and fishing, hiking trails, cross-country skiing, and exceptional stargazing at the designated dark sky preserve. An observation platform near Parking Lot D offers prime viewing for both stars and birds. Pets are allowed throughout most of the park on 6-foot leashes. The day-use area and campground have separate entrances located two miles apart. A Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry.
