Oceano Campground sits within Pismo State Beach, positioned between the Pacific Ocean dunes and a freshwater lagoon that attracts diverse bird species. The campground provides 82 single-family sites divided between an RV loop with water and electric hookups (sites 1-42) and a tent camping loop with water stations nearby. Each site includes a paved parking spur, picnic table, fire ring, and grill. The facility features modern amenities including flush restroom/shower buildings in both loops, potable water throughout, trash service, and a fee-based RV dump station. Firewood is available for purchase on-site. The campground provides convenient beach access for exploring the dunes and coastline, while the adjacent lagoon offers excellent birdwatching opportunities. The park's Visitor Center is accessible from the campground, offering educational exhibits about the coastal ecosystem. The location serves as a base for exploring the greater Pismo Beach area, including the Oceano Dunes and nearby coastal communities.

Directions

Located at 555 Pier Ave, Oceano, CA 93445. From Highway 101, take the Pismo Beach/Grand Avenue exit and head west. Turn south on Highway 1 (Pacific Coast Highway) and continue to Pier Avenue in Oceano. Turn right on Pier Avenue and follow to the campground entrance.
