North Beach Campground is part of Pismo State Beach, situated along California's scenic Central Coast in Pismo Beach. This established campground features 103 campsites designed for tents and RVs, all without hookups, making it ideal for those seeking a more natural camping experience near the ocean. Campers can access the beach directly from the campground and enjoy views along Carpenter Creek. The campground is adjacent to the Pismo State Beach Monarch Butterfly Grove, home to the largest overwintering colony of monarch butterflies in the United States, visible from November through February. During summer months, the campground offers Junior Ranger Programs and campfire programs at the on-site campfire center. The park provides diverse outdoor activities including surfing, swimming, surf fishing, bird watching, and hiking trails through coastal sand dune habitat. Facilities include restrooms, pay-operated hot showers, picnic tables, fire rings, and a fee-based RV dump station. Firewood is available for purchase from camp hosts. The Oceano Dunes District Visitor Center, located at the nearby Oceano Campground, offers educational exhibits and information about local wildlife and cultural history. The pleasant year-round climate makes this campground suitable for camping in any season.
