Pioneer Campground
Open for the 2026 season. The campground operates May through September on a first-come, first-served basis. Potable water becomes available Memorial Day Weekend. No reservations accepted for individual sites; group reservations available for the entire campground.

About
Pioneer Campground sits at the base of Soldier Mountain Ski Area in Idaho's Sawtooth National Forest, offering a quiet camping experience along Soldier Creek. This small, developed campground features just 5 sites, each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. Vault toilets are available, and potable water is provided from Memorial Day Weekend through the end of the season. The campground is free to use and operates on a first-come, first-served basis for individual campers. Groups of up to 50 people can reserve the entire campground for events, utilizing the on-site amphitheater and adjacent picnic area. The setting provides convenient access to the South Fork and North Fork Soldier Creek trailheads along Forest Road 093, which connect to an extensive trail network throughout the Soldier Mountains.
Directions
From Fairfield, travel north 11 miles on Forest Road 094, bear left at the fork onto Forest Road 093, continue past Soldier Mountain Ski Area. The campground is on the right.
