About

Pioneer Campground is a developed campground situated on Soldier Creek, adjacent to Soldier Mountain Ski Area in the Fairfield Ranger District of Sawtooth National Forest. The campground consists of 5 units and can be reserved in its entirety for groups of up to 50 people, making it ideal for group gatherings. An amphitheater and adjacent picnic area provide venues for group events and activities. Campground amenities include picnic tables, fire rings, drinking water, and vault toilets. The site offers no-fee camping and operates seasonally from May through September, though camping is permissible before May without services. Drinking water is not available until Memorial Day weekend. The campground serves as a gateway to outdoor recreation in the Soldier Mountains. The South Fork and North Fork of Soldier Creek trails begin along Forest Road 093 near the campground and connect to a major network of trails throughout the Soldier Mountains, offering opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, and backpacking. Winter activities include cross-country skiing and snowmobiling.

Directions

From Fairfield, go north 11 miles on Forest Road 094, follow the sign and stay left at the fork to Forest Road 093. Continue just beyond Soldier Mountain Ski Area where the campground will be on your right.
