About

Pinecrest Campground is a well-developed Forest Service campground situated on the southwest shore of 300-acre Pinecrest Lake at an elevation of 5,600 feet. The campground has 200 sites spread across five loops (A through E), each with a paved parking pad, metal fire ring, and picnic table. Flush toilet restrooms with sinks are located throughout, and most have electricity. Potable water is available from hydrants serving multiple sites. The Pinecrest Lake Recreation Area offers extensive recreation opportunities. The Pinecrest Lake National Recreation Trail provides an easy 4-mile loop around the lake. Rainbow trout fishing is popular, and a sandy swimming beach with day-use facilities is within walking distance. The nearby marina offers boat rentals, and the area has restaurants, stores, and an outdoor movie theater. Dodge Ridge Mountain Resort is nearby for winter skiing and summer mountain biking. The campground operates seasonally from April through October and books quickly during summer months. Maximum vehicle length is 40 feet. Sites accommodate up to 6 people with 2 vehicles maximum. Pets are welcome but must comply with Tuolumne County leash laws and are prohibited on beaches.

Directions

From Sonora, take Highway 108 east for 30 miles. Take the Pinecrest exit onto Pinecrest Lake Road and continue to the campground, located one mile east of the Highway 108/Pinecrest Lake Road junction.
