Picayune Strand Horseshoe Primitive Campground is located within Picayune Strand State Forest in Collier County, approximately 8 miles east of Naples. The campground offers 6 primitive tent-only sites that can accommodate up to 8 people per site with 1-2 tents and one vehicle. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table, with portable restrooms available at the campground. The campground serves as the eastern trailhead for 22 miles of equestrian trails included in the Florida Forest Service Trailtrotter Program, with 17 uncovered horse stalls available. Non-potable water is available at the horse stalls, but there is no potable water or electricity at the campground. A pavilion is available for rent. All horses must have current negative Coggins test results. Picayune Strand State Forest is Florida's fourth largest state forest at 74,168 acres, comprised of the South Golden Gates Estates Tract and Belle Meade Tract. The forest is in the heart of the Big Cypress Basin and is mostly underwater during wet season. The landscape features a mosaic of cypress strands, wet prairie, pine flatwoods in lowlands, and subtropical hardwood hammocks in uplands. Recreation includes horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, bird watching, and wildlife viewing. Reservations are available up to 11 months in advance.

Southbound on I-75, take exit 111 and turn left onto Immokalee Road. Continue 8 miles, turn right onto Randall Boulevard. Continue 3.4 miles, turn right onto Everglades Boulevard. Continue 9.4 miles, turn right onto 52nd Avenue. Campground is on the right in 1 mile. Northbound on I-75 from Miami, take exit 80 to FL-29 North. Continue 10 miles, turn left onto Oil Well Road. Continue 12.7 miles, turn left onto Everglades Boulevard. Continue 10.5 miles, turn right onto 52nd Avenue. Campground is on the right in 1 mile.
