About
Koreshan State Park Campground sits along the Estero River in southwest Florida, providing a well-developed camping experience within a historically significant setting. The park preserves the remnants of the Koreshan Unity, a utopian community established by Cyrus Teed in 1894. Campers can explore restored buildings from the settlement, including the Art Hall, bakery, and founder's home, while enjoying modern camping amenities.
The campground offers 60 sites, all equipped with water and electric hookups, picnic tables, and fire rings. Twelve sites are designated tent-only and positioned along the riverbank for a more secluded experience. Four paved ADA-accessible sites are available. A centrally located bathhouse provides hot showers, flush toilets, and laundry facilities with washers, dryers, and vending machines. A dump station serves RV campers.
Beyond camping, the park offers nature trails through subtropical hammock and pine flatwoods ecosystems, a playground, and access to the Estero River for paddling. Firewood and ice are sold at the ranger station. The park's unique blend of natural beauty and living history makes it a distinctive destination in the Fort Myers-Estero area.
