About

Pete Forks Junction Camp is a primitive dispersed camping area situated in the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests of north-central Idaho. The site lies within Idaho County at approximately 46.42°N, 115.56°W, placing it in the remote backcountry of the North Fork Clearwater River corridor. This campsite does not appear in official USFS recreation databases or on Recreation.gov, indicating it is likely an undeveloped dispersed camping area rather than a formally maintained campground. Campers should expect no developed facilities and come fully self-sufficient with water, supplies, and the ability to pack out all trash. Access to this remote area typically requires high-clearance vehicles and may be limited by seasonal road closures due to snow. The surrounding Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests offer rugged mountain terrain, dense conifer forests, and opportunities for wildlife viewing, fishing, and backcountry exploration.
