About

Sugarloaf Campground is a first-come, first-served campground located in the scenic Williams Fork Valley within Arapaho National Forest. At 8,970 feet elevation, the campground offers 11 non-electric sites suitable for tents, trailers, and smaller RVs up to 23 feet. Each site includes a tent pad, fire grate, and picnic table, with a maximum capacity of eight people per site. The campground provides vault toilets and trash service, but no potable water is available. Campers can obtain drinking water at South Fork Campground, located a half mile away. Due to the mountain pine beetle epidemic and subsequent hazard tree removal, the campground offers little to no shade. Popular activities include hiking in Arapaho National Forest and the nearby Byers Peak Wilderness, scenic driving, and wildlife viewing. Pets are welcome but must be kept on a hand-held leash at all times.
