***Attention:**** Due to the threat of golden mussels, these boat launches will be closed to motorized watercraft for the 2025 season: 1) Jackson Meadows Reservoir boat launches (Pass Creek and Woodcamp) and 2) Bowman Lake. You may still launch non-motorized watercraft from these boat launches. For more information, about the golden mussel and how to do your part to reduce the threat of introduction, please read below and visit: *[*https://www.nidwater.com/jackson-meadows*][1]*.* * The non-native, highly invasive golden mussel was discovered in Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta in October 2024. Once established, they can affect flood control by reducing water flow and contribute to harmful algal blooms. Please contact the waterbody you plan to visit for latest information about launching requirements. Since golden mussels and their larval offspring are very small, they may easily go unseen on your watercraft. To keep our favorite lakes and rivers free from this risk, please Clean, Drain, Dry equipment and watercraft before and after entering a waterbody: *[*https://dbw.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=28993*][2] [1]: https://www.nidwater.com/jackson-meadows [2]: https://dbw.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=28993
About
Pass Creek Campground is situated on the northeast shore of Jackson Meadows Reservoir in the Tahoe National Forest, occupying a rolling forested valley at 6,100 feet elevation. The campground features 30 single-family campsites nestled in a dense stand of pine and fir trees, each equipped with a picnic table and campfire ring. Visitors enjoy spectacular views of the Sierra Crest and English Mountain from this scenic location. The reservoir provides excellent opportunities for water-based recreation, including boating, canoeing, water skiing, and swimming. Anglers can fish for rainbow and brown trout. A boat launch ramp is located within the campground, though motorized watercraft are prohibited due to golden mussel concerns. Non-motorized boats are still welcome. A designated swim beach sits nearby for warm-weather enjoyment. Land-based activities include hiking on the Pacific Crest Trail, which meanders along the east side of the lake, as well as mountain biking and hunting in the surrounding forest. The campground offers flush and vault toilets plus drinking water, but no hookups, showers, or telephone service. The site is operated and maintained by Tahoe National Forest, with Nevada Irrigation District managing the reservoir. Bears are active in the area, requiring proper food storage in approved containers.
