About
Little Lasier Meadows Campground is a dedicated horse camp located approximately 32 miles north of Truckee in the Tahoe National Forest. Situated at 6,511 feet elevation in a grassy meadow surrounded by lodgepole pine and fir trees, the campground offers 11 equestrian sites equipped with picnic tables, campfire rings, and hitching racks. A shared horse corral is available on-site, and drinking water is provided for both campers and horses. The campground's location provides exceptional access to the Pacific Crest Trail via a connector trail just half a mile away, making it an ideal base camp for multi-day horseback riding adventures. Nearby Jackson Meadow Reservoir is situated in a rolling forested valley with beautiful views of the Sierra Crest and English Mountain. The reservoir offers excellent opportunities for boating, canoeing, water skiing, swimming, and fishing for rainbow and brown trout. A boat ramp is located at Pass Creek Campground, and a designated swim beach is nearby. The surrounding area is popular for hunting, hiking, mountain biking, and exploring the nearby Milton and Bowman Reservoirs and the Grouse Ridge Non-Motorized Area. Bears frequent the area, so all food must be kept in approved bear-proof containers. The campground is heavily used during summer months and operates on a reservation system through Recreation.gov.
