About
Findley Campground is located alongside the scenic Jackson Meadow Reservoir in the Tahoe National Forest, situated in a rolling forested valley with views of the Sierra Crest and English Mountain. The campground lies on the western shore of the lake at 6,100 feet elevation, in a forest of pine and fir trees. Each of the 14 single-family sites includes a picnic table and campfire ring. The location within the Woodcamp Recreation Area makes it a great base camp for recreation. The reservoir offers excellent opportunities for boating, canoeing, water skiing, swimming, and fishing for rainbow and brown trout. A boat ramp and designated swim beach are located within the recreation area. Note that motorized boats are currently prohibited due to Golden Mussel concerns. A half-mile interpretive nature trail wanders through adjacent Woodcamp Campground, and the Pacific Crest Trail meanders along the east side of the lake. Hunting and biking are popular activities in the surrounding area. Bears are present in the area; approved food storage containers are required.
Directions
Take Interstate 80 to the Truckee/Highway 89 North exit. Follow Highway 89 north for 17 miles to the Jackson Meadows turnoff. Travel west on Forest Road 07 for 18 miles to Jackson Meadow Reservoir. Proceed across the dam and continue on a paved/gravel road for approximately four miles. Turn left at the Woodcamp Recreation Area sign and proceed to the campground.
