About
Parksville Lake RV Campground is situated in the Cherokee National Forest near Parksville Lake, offering 17 well-shaded and nicely spaced campsites that accommodate larger RVs. Several sites can accommodate two RVs camping close together, and some sites are located along a small stream. Each site includes a picnic table, grill, and lantern post, with electric hookups available at all sites. The campground provides a centrally located bathhouse with flush toilets and warm showers, water hydrants throughout the campground, and an RV dump station near the entrance. The facility serves as an ideal base camp for exploring the diverse recreational opportunities in the area, including beaches and boat ramps at nearby Parksville Lake, extensive mountain biking and hiking trails, and the renowned Ocoee River and Ocoee Whitewater Center, which hosted the 1996 Olympic kayak events. Located in the heart of the Cherokee National Forest, Tennessee's only national forest, the campground sits within a 650,000-acre expanse of the Southern Appalachians that is home to more than 20,000 species of plants and animals. The forest features numerous rivers, creeks, and lakes. Bear-aware practices are required, with all food and beverages stored in approved containers, locked vehicles, or hard-sided campers when not in use. Pets are allowed on leash, and campfires are permitted in designated fire rings only.
