About

Park Lake Campground is located approximately 20 miles southwest of Helena in the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest at an elevation of 6,400 feet. The campground features 22 sites nestled in a lodgepole pine forest, set back slightly from the 3.5-acre alpine Park Lake. The peaceful mountain lake offers excellent fishing opportunities for cutthroat and grayling trout, and visitors can hand-launch non-motorized boats for exploring the water. The campground provides vault toilets, but potable water is not available on-site, so campers must bring their own drinking water. Each site includes a table and fire grill. The facility experiences heavy use during its operating season from mid-May through October. The scenic location offers opportunities for picnicking along the lakeshore, fishing, and hiking on nearby trails. Access to the campground requires traveling west from the Clancy exit on Interstate 15, following county roads and Forest Road 4009. Sites can accommodate RVs up to 35 feet in length. The nightly fee is $15 per site, with an additional $5 charge for a second vehicle (limited to two vehicles per site). Interagency Senior and Access passes provide a 50% discount on the base camping fee.
