About
Moose Creek Campground is tucked into the mountains southwest of Helena in the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest, reached by traveling eight miles west on Highway 12 and turning south onto Rimini Road #695. The campground's nine sites sit along Moose Creek, which provides fishing opportunities. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table, and the campground has vault toilets and potable water from a hand pump. The area offers several nearby Forest Service amenities including Moose Creek Cabin (a historic 1907 rental cabin), a picnic area, and an environmental education trail. The Continental Divide National Scenic Trail is accessible within a short distance. A food storage order is in effect from March 1 through December 1 to prevent human-bear conflicts. All sites are first-come, first-served at $15 per night ($5 for additional vehicles), payable at the self-serve fee station with cash or check. Interagency Senior/Access Pass holders receive a 50% discount on the single campsite they occupy. Camping is limited to 16 consecutive days. The maximum trailer length is 20 feet, making the campground unsuitable for large RVs.
