Nine Mile State Park Campground

Open

Nine Mile Recreation Area is a day-use only facility with no overnight camping. The boat launch and day-use area are open April 1 through October 31. The dump station is available mid-April through October 15.

About

Nine Mile Recreation Area sits at the eastern end of Lake Spokane, the reservoir created by Nine Mile Dam on the Spokane River. As part of Riverside State Park, this facility serves as a popular hub for water-based recreation during the warmer months. The area features a dual-lane boat launch that can handle both motorized and non-motorized watercraft, two docks for mooring, and a designated swimming area. This is strictly a day-use facility with no overnight camping. An RV dump station is available for campers staying elsewhere in the park system. Visitors seeking overnight accommodations within Riverside State Park should consider the Bowl and Pitcher campground, the Lake Spokane boat-in campsites, or the Equestrian Area campground. A Discover Pass is required for vehicle access at the Nine Mile Dam take-out area, though the overlook is exempt from this requirement. The facility is managed by Washington State Parks under an agreement with Avista Utilities, which owns the land.

Directions

From Spokane, take US-2 west toward Airway Heights. Continue northwest on WA-291 (Nine Mile Road) toward Nine Mile Falls. The recreation area is located along Lake Spokane near Nine Mile Dam.
