About
Mystic Lake is a remote day-use and dispersed camping area in Colville National Forest's Pend Oreille County, Washington. The 16.8-acre lake sits at 2,975 feet elevation at the south end of Bear Paw Ridge, reaching depths of 22 feet. Several undeveloped dispersed campsites are located above the lake at the south end, with a concrete vault toilet the only facility provided. The lake offers excellent fishing for cutthroat trout, which are stocked regularly, and naturally occurring eastern brook trout. Two-pole fishing is permitted, and anglers have shoreline access around the entire perimeter. Motorized boats are not allowed, and kayak or small boat access is difficult due to the steep slope down to the water. This is a primitive camping experience with no potable water, tables, or fire rings provided. Campers must bring their own water and be prepared for dispersed camping conditions. RVs and trailers are prohibited. For those seeking developed camping facilities, Browns Lake and South Skookum Lake campgrounds are located within a few miles.
