Located in the Mount Adams Ranger District of Gifford Pinchot National Forest, Moss Creek Campground provides a peaceful forest setting bordered on two sides by the Little White Salmon River. At 1,400 feet elevation, the campground offers relief from summer heat under a thick canopy of Douglas fir, hemlock, cedar, true fir, and big leaf maples. The campground caters to tent campers and small RVs with a maximum vehicle length of 32 feet. The Little White Salmon River is the main attraction, providing excellent opportunities for rainbow and brook trout fishing as well as wading in cool waters. The campground is strategically located just north of the Columbia River and near popular wind surfing sites in the Columbia River Gorge. A campground host is present during the operating season. The surrounding Mount Adams Ranger District features diverse habitats ranging from old growth and second growth forest to wetland areas, low and high elevation meadows, and glaciers. Elevations in the district range from 1,200 to 12,276 feet at the summit of Mount Adams. The campground serves as an excellent base for exploring the various sights around Mount Adams and the Columbia River Gorge.

Directions

From Stevenson, WA drive east on Highway 14 to Cook, WA. Take a left on County Road 1000/Cook-Underwood Road and head northeast for about 5 miles. Go left on Willard Road at the hatchery, and follow for about 1.5 miles and pass through the town of Willard. Continue straight on Oklahoma Road/Forest Road 18 for about a mile. It is about 8 miles from Cook to the campground.
