Moose Creek Campground is located in the Tenmile Creek drainage area of Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest, approximately 14.5 miles southwest of Helena, Montana. Accessed via Highway 12 west for about 8 miles, then south on Rimini Road #695, this established 9-unit campground sits in forested mountain terrain near the Continental Divide. The campground provides basic amenities including potable water and restrooms, with individual campsites priced at $15 per night and an additional $5 fee for extra vehicles. The site serves as an excellent base camp for exploring the surrounding national forest, with the Switchback Ridge Trail #348 accessible just a short walk through the campground, leading to the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail. Nearby features include a historic Forest Service rental cabin dating to 1907, a picnic area, and an environmental education trail. The campground is situated in a grassy clearing surrounded by conifer forest, offering a mix of wooded and open terrain. Pets are permitted on leash, and the area provides opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, and wildlife viewing during the operating season.

Directions

From Helena, travel west on Highway 12 for approximately 8 miles. Turn south on Rimini Road #695 and continue for about 4 miles. The campground is located on the east side of the road.
