Open seasonally from approximately May through mid-October, depending on snow conditions. First-come, first-served only; no reservations. A food storage order is in effect March 1 through December 1.
About
Moose Creek Campground offers a quiet mountain camping experience in the Tenmile Creek drainage west of Helena, Montana. The 9-site campground is situated in conifer forest along Moose Creek, providing a peaceful setting for tent camping and small trailers up to 20 feet. Each site features a fire ring and picnic table. The campground serves as a gateway to several recreational opportunities. The Continental Divide National Scenic Trail is accessible within a short distance, making this an excellent base for hikers. Anglers can fish in Moose Creek, and an environmental education trail is located nearby. A Forest Service rental cabin is also available adjacent to the campground. All sites are first-come, first-served with no advance reservations. A food storage order is in effect from March 1 through December 1 to prevent human-bear conflicts. Campers should be prepared for limited cell coverage in this area.
Directions
From Helena, travel west on U.S. Highway 12 for approximately 8 miles to Rimini Road (Forest Road 695). Turn south on Rimini Road and continue approximately 4 miles to the campground.
