The campground operates seasonally, typically from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, weather dependent. Sites are first-come, first-served. A food storage order is in effect due to grizzly bear activity.

About

Copper Creek Campground is a rustic forest campground in the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest, situated at 5,300 feet elevation in the mountains northeast of Lincoln, Montana. The 17-site campground features concrete picnic tables and metal fire rings at each site, vault toilets, and drinking water available from a hand pump. Snowbank Lake lies directly across the road, offering fishing and scenic views. The campground serves as an excellent basecamp for wilderness exploration. The Indian Meadows Trailhead is just two miles away, providing access into the Scapegoat Wilderness, part of the larger Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex. This is active grizzly bear country, and a food storage order is in effect requiring proper storage of all food and attractants. To reach the campground, travel east from Lincoln on Montana Highway 200 approximately 6 miles to Forest Road 330 (Copper Creek Road), then continue north approximately 8 miles to the campground.
