Midway State Park

Closed — Closed for the season. Park operates Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Pavilions can be reserved starting January 10, 2026 for the 2026 season.

About

Located on the shores of beautiful Chautauqua Lake, Midway State Park is a family treasure and one of the oldest continually operating amusement parks in the United States. Originally established in 1898 as a trolley park by the Jamestown & Lake Erie Railway, the first owners constructed playing fields, tennis courts, bath houses and a dance hall to entice customers to ride the trolley on weekends. In 1915, a new building was constructed with a kitchen, large dining room and space for dancing and roller skating, which today houses a museum, gift shop, and concession stands. Midway State Park continues to offer the same family-friendly atmosphere that visitors have come to love for over a century. Patrons can take a nostalgic ride on the vintage carousel, play mini golf, spin on the tilt-a-whirl, ride go-karts, or enjoy the many kiddie rides and classic midway games. The park offers four pavilions available for rental, suitable for family reunions and company picnics. Accessible by water via Chautauqua Lake, the park provides free docking for day visitors and excellent fishing opportunities. This is a day-use facility only and does not provide overnight camping accommodations.
