About

Mecca Beach Campground is one of three developed beach campgrounds within Salton Sea State Recreation Area in Riverside County, California. Situated at 227 feet below sea level along the western shore of the Salton Sea, the campground offers direct beach access for swimming, boating, and fishing. The area is known for excellent birding opportunities and dramatic desert scenery. The campground provides developed sites suitable for both RV and tent camping, with flush restrooms, hot showers, and full hookups (electric, water, sewer) available at some sites. Maximum trailer and motorhome length is 35 feet. An RV dump station is available on-site. Sites are first-come, first-served during the off-season and reservable October through May via ReserveCalifornia. The Salton Sea region experiences extreme heat in summer months, with temperatures regularly exceeding 100°F. The most comfortable camping season runs from late fall through early spring. The park also includes a visitor center, boat ramp, fishing jetties, and hiking trails.
