About
McClure Campground is located on Highway 133 on the south side of McClure Pass in the Gunnison National Forest, sitting at the head of Lee Creek. This quiet campground offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by aspen trees that provide excellent shade during the summer months and spectacular fall colors. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring/grill. The campground experiences light use, making it ideal for visitors seeking a more secluded camping experience. The campground is positioned near beaver ponds that provide opportunities for trout fishing, and the historic town of Marble is nearby for those interested in exploring local history and attractions. The aspen-dominated landscape creates a classic Colorado mountain camping experience with stunning natural beauty. McClure Campground operates seasonally from late spring to early fall, weather dependent. The campground charges $14 per night per camping unit, with an additional vehicle fee of $7 and day-use picnic fees of $6 per vehicle. Firewood bundles are available for $10. Vault toilets are provided, but no potable water is available, so campers must bring their own water supply. Quiet hours are enforced from 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. OHV use and livestock are not permitted in the campground.
Directions
From Paonia, travel east on Highway 133 for approximately 26.7 miles. The campground is on the right just south of McClure Pass.
