About

McClure Campground is a peaceful first-come-first-served campground located on Highway 133 on the south side of McClure Pass in Gunnison National Forest. The campground sits at the head of Lee Creek, near the historic town of Marble, Colorado. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring/grill, and the area is surrounded by beautiful aspen groves that provide excellent shade during the summer months. The campground offers a primitive camping experience with vault toilets but no potable water, so campers must bring their own water supply. Nearby beaver ponds provide opportunities for trout fishing. Usage is typically light, making it a good option for those seeking a quieter camping experience away from crowds. The campground operates seasonally from late spring through early fall, with exact opening dates dependent on weather conditions and snowmelt at this mountain location. OHV use and livestock are prohibited within the campground. Quiet hours are enforced from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Directions

From Paonia, travel east on Highway 133 for approximately 26.7 miles. The campground is on the right just south of McClure Pass.
