About

Mary Smith Campground is located off Trinity Dam Boulevard, two miles north of the community of Lewiston, along the shores of Lewiston Lake. The campground features 11 walk-in tent sites and 6 glamping tents, all situated in a lush riparian environment of conifers, deciduous trees, and wildflowers. Except for a large cluster of sites at the campground entrance (sites 2-9), campsites are walk-in and clustered in small groups, offering privacy ranging from fair to outstanding. Each site has views of the lake and Trinity Alps. The campground is renowned for excellent fishing opportunities on Lewiston Lake and was recognized as one of California's prettiest lake campgrounds. Standard campsites include a fire ring and picnic table, while glamping tents feature queen beds with linens, down comforters, nightstands, rugs, front decks with chairs, fire pits, and picnic tables. The facility includes both flush and vault restrooms and drinking water. No trailers are allowed due to the walk-in nature of the sites. Recreation opportunities include fishing, day hiking along the Lewiston Lake Shore Trail, wildlife viewing, boating, and swimming. The campground is managed by Shasta Recreation Company and operates seasonally from April 1 through October 31.

Directions

From Weaverville, take State Route 3 north for 7 miles. Turn right on Rush Creek Road for 9 miles. Turn left on Trinity Dam Boulevard for 3/4 mile, then right on Lewiston Vista/Mary Smith exit. Campground is 1/4 mile from exit.
