About

Mary Smith Campground occupies a prime location on Lewiston Lake in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest, surrounded by mixed conifer and deciduous forest with views of the Trinity Alps. The campground earned recognition from Sunset Magazine as one of California's prettiest lake campgrounds, and the setting delivers on that reputation. Many campsites offer direct shore access to the lake. The facility is tent-only with 11 walk-in campsites, each equipped with a fire ring and picnic table. Six glamping tents are also available, featuring queen beds with linens, nightstands, rugs, front decks with seating, and fire pits. Both flush and vault restrooms serve the campground, along with potable water. Lewiston Lake stretches about five miles long at an elevation of 1,902 feet, reaching depths of around 70 feet. The 10 mph speed limit for motorized boats makes it ideal for anglers and paddlers. Rainbow trout are abundant, with brown and brook trout also common. Pine Cove boat ramp is four miles away, and Fairview launching area on Trinity Lake is nine miles north.
