Lundy Canyon Campground Campground

Open

The campground is open for the 2026 season. Operating season is typically late April through mid-November, weather permitting. First-come, first-served only; no reservations accepted. Campers must bring potable water as none is available on-site.

About

Lundy Canyon Campground sits at 7,660 feet elevation in the scenic Eastern Sierra, operated by Mono County under a lease from Southern California Edison since 1961. The 36 single-family campsites are scattered among groves of quaking aspens along Mill Creek, providing a peaceful mountain setting with easy access to Lundy Canyon trails and the Hoover Wilderness. This is a primitive, first-come, first-served campground with no reservations accepted. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring with grate, and bear box for food storage. Pit toilets and trash dumpsters are available, but there is no potable water. Non-potable water spigots fed by spring water are present, but campers should bring adequate drinking water or treat any water collected on-site. The campground accommodates tents and smaller RVs, with most sites suitable for vehicles up to 35 feet. Gravel roads throughout the campground can be rough in places. The $16 nightly fee is collected in cash only at the fee station near the entrance. The remote location and lack of cell service add to the backcountry feel.
