About

Lost Dutchman State Park sits at the western edge of the Superstition Wilderness, offering dramatic views of the rugged volcanic peaks that inspired legends of a lost gold mine. The campground provides a comfortable base for exploring the desert landscape, with paved roads throughout and no RV size restrictions. Sites are spread across loops with access to two restroom/shower buildings. The park features several hiking trails ranging from easy nature walks to strenuous climbs, with trail access from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. The Siphon Draw Trail leads toward Flatiron, one of the most popular hikes in the Phoenix area. Spring brings wildflower blooms and cooler temperatures, making it peak season for camping. Five air-conditioned camping cabins are also available for those who prefer a roof overhead. The visitor center and park store sell basic supplies, drinks, snacks, maps, and souvenirs. Due to the park's popularity, reservations are recommended, especially during the cooler months from October through April.
