About

Located in the Sonoran Desert at the base of the iconic Superstition Mountains, Lost Dutchman Campground offers year-round camping just 40 miles east of Phoenix. Named after the fabled lost gold mine, this state park campground features 135 well-maintained sites spread across seven loops, all on paved roads suitable for RVs and tents of any size. The campground includes 68 sites with electric hookups (50/30/20 amp service) and water, plus additional non-hookup sites. Every site is equipped with a picnic table and fire pit with adjustable grill gate. The park also offers three group camping areas and three hike-in or bike-in sites for more secluded experiences. Well-maintained restrooms serve the campground, and the visitor center includes a gift shop and natural exhibits. Several trails lead directly from the park into the Superstition Wilderness and surrounding Tonto National Forest, making this an ideal base camp for desert hiking and exploration. The rugged landscape and dramatic mountain views provide a quintessential Arizona desert camping experience. Leashed pets are welcome throughout the campground.
