About
Bagley Flat Campground offers a unique boat-in camping experience on Saguaro Lake within the Tonto National Forest. Accessible only by watercraft, this remote campground is located approximately four miles by boat from the Saguaro Del Norte boat launch. The campground features 10 designated campsites, each equipped with a picnic table and grill, situated under a grove of mesquite trees that provide welcome shade during the hot summer months. The facility includes a courtesy dock for easy lake access and fishing, along with vault toilet facilities, making it the only location with restroom facilities on the upper portion of Saguaro Lake. Campers must bring their own drinking water, as potable water is not available on-site. The setting is Upper Sonoran Desert with vegetation including mesquite, catclaw, desert broom, cholla, and saguaro cacti. To reach Bagley Flat, boaters launch from Saguaro Del Norte Recreation Site, which is accessed via the Bush Highway (Forest Road 204) from State Highway 87. While camping at Bagley Flat itself is free on a first-come, first-served basis, users must pay day-use fees at the boat launch and obtain a Tonto Daily Pass. The campground operates year-round with a 14-day stay limit and enforces quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
